The MFA in Creative Writing at City College invites you to a reading and conversation with Rahna Reiko Rizzuto, a guest professor, novelist and memoirist on October 16, 5-7pm.

Rahna Reiko Rizzuto’s third novel is Shadow Child, a mystery set in Hawaii, New York, and Japan.  Her other works include her memoir, Hiroshima in the Morning, which moves from “Ground Zero” to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and her first novel, Why She Left Us, about the Japanese American incarceration camps.  Her awards include the American Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Finalist, Asian American Literary Award Finalist, among others. Her articles on motherhood, Hiroshima, the Japanese incarceration camps and radiation poisoning have been published globally.

This event will be followed by Meet and Greet for prospective MFA students with MFA director, Professor Michelle Valladares.
